How to reach San Gimignano and the farmhouse
main artistic and historical towns of Tuscany:
Siena Km 48 - Florence Km 58 - Pisa Km 90 - Volterra Km 30.
From Florence and Siena, take the "Autopalio" highway and exit at Poggibonsi nord, following the signs for San Gimignano. Once you reach the "town of the beautiful towers" you will come to a roundabout where you must turn left for Volterra and take the second road on the left, following the main road. From the S.G.C. Firenze-Pisa-Livorno highway, exit at Empoli following the signs for Castelfiorentino, Certaldo and Poggibonsi. Once you reach Certaldo, follow the signs for San Gimignano. Cross the town and when you come to the roundabout turn right for Volterra and take the second road on the left, following the main road. From Volterra follow the signs for Poggibonsi and Colle di Val d'Elsa. Once you reach Castel San Gimignano turn left for San Gimignano. Before you reach the medieval town, turn right and follow the signs for Borgo Montauto. |
